What The Hell Happened In Resident Evil 8: Village? – Before You Play Resident Evil 9 Requiem

Resident Evil Village is set in the year 2021. A few years have passed since the Baker residence incident in Dulvey, Louisiana, and Ethan and Mia are living a fairly ordinary life- or, well, trying to, at the very least.

Meanwhile, for their own protection, the Winters family have been living in witness protection for the last three years under the ever watchful eye of the BSAA (from whom Ethan has also received some military training), in a remote house in Eastern Europe- which means they’re basically entirely cut off and isolated from the outside world.

That isolation, in fact, is doubly important because the Baker incident never became public, with the story that the larger world believes being a tragic gas leak and explosion.
