Resident Evil 7’s Story Is DARKER Than You Remember: Before You Play Resident Evil 9 Requiem

Resident Evil 7 is set in the year 2017, and unusually, serving as its protagonist isn’t an established character with years of experience fighting against nightmarish monsters, but a regular, vanilla everyman in the form of Ethan Winters. Three years ago, Ethan’s wife Mia left for what was supposedly just a regular babysitting job, but it wasn’t long afterward that she disappeared entirely off the face of the planet and was presumed dead.

As RE7 kicks off though, Ethan receives a message from her- apparently she is still alive, and wants him to get her at a place called the Baker residence, deep in the swamps of Dulvey, Louisiana.
